  • This clock is one of the biggest in the world and one of Tokyo’s Easter egg attractions many people just stumble upon in the Shiodome area! It’s 28 tons of copper has a lot of moving parts!

    Where is this?
宮崎駿の日テレ大時計 Hayao Miyazaki's Nippon Television Big Clock

It goes off at 12:00 noon, 3pm, 6pm but get there at least 5 min before because it starts BEFORE the hour. If you love Ghibli and can’t get museum tickets, go here!

In general, I love just about all your videos so please don't take this the wrong way. But the most annoying part of this video is your zooming in on something whilst I was watching something else. When recording a multiple movement feature like this? Set your camera on a tripod, DISABLE the zoom button and don't touch the camera again until the show is over. That way your viewers can decide where to look and focus without getting dizzy from your visual control antics. Otherwise, very informative video and thank you.

Rugby World Cup is held every 4 years. There is no need to steal thunder from the Olympics. Rugby sevens is also one of the sports at the Olympics.

This was truly magical and I did really enjoy watching the preformance. I was really distracted by the All Seeing Eye symbolism above the clock though.

Another livestream that I'm sorry I missed. As someone who's worked in the media since the early 1980s -- including writing a commentary for Newsweek Japan about racism in the US against Japanese -- I'm sorry this happened to you, John. I can see why you state from time to time that OiJ isn't about covering negative stuff. I'm glad you recovered from this terrible, unethical experience and got shafted by a crappy journalist and have created an amazing and successful media career of your own. I work at the University of Colorado in Boulder Colorado in the journalism department, and I think that what you and some of the best YouTubers do is the future of media, and that the future is already here.... Not just being an influencer or mere personality, but you're teaching people about your subject of expertise (Japan) and doing it thoughtfully. Thanks for your work.

It's not too too difficult to get Ghibli Museum tickets, you just need to be on the ball and ready to go when the online monthly releases roll out on the 10th of the month. I hit F5 for about ten minutes and eventually got through.

For 1000 yen it was probably the best thing I did in Tokyo, I don't think it's worth paying the obscene markups 3rd parties charge for tickets though.

Too funny. I stayed at the Royal Park Hotel Shiodome . At the end of each day after getting off the trains, I would take those escalators just past the Taco Bell, catch a bit to eat and head into the hotel. I must have passed by that clock on the level below it without even knowing about it. Now I kick myself about not knowing about it. :) I did visit those streets in Shimbashi. That area turns into the red light district at night. I had women running across the street and asking me something in Japanese. I guess that will be the push to learn Japanese and return. Great videos!

48:30 Thanks for mentioning Singapore. We are hot all year round but not as hot as Bangkok or Japan (Summer time. Have yet to experience it). Definitely we can have Olympics here just not during rainy season from May to end June and November
